Modern Slavery Statement
Paddington Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Paddington Movers to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with respect for the rights and dignity of all individuals who may be affected by our activities.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Paddington Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, child labour, and any exploitation of vulnerable individuals. This applies to our direct operations, our workforce, and our wider supply chains. We expect all employees, contractors, and suppliers to share this commitment.
We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual that engages in or condones modern slavery. If we identify credible concerns or violations, we will take prompt and decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts and reporting matters to the appropriate authorities where required.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Paddington Movers provides moving and relocation services and depends on a range of suppliers and business partners, including vehicle and equipment providers, packaging suppliers, facilities and maintenance contractors, and staffing and recruitment partners. We recognise that certain sectors, geographies, and roles may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, and we take this into account in our approach to due diligence and monitoring.
All relevant managers and decision-makers are responsible for ensuring that our standards on modern slavery are understood and followed within their areas of responsibility.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require our suppliers and contractors to comply with applicable employment, labour, and human rights legislation, and to uphold our principles regarding the prevention of modern slavery. As part of our onboarding and ongoing review processes, we may request information regarding a supplier’s policies, working practices, and oversight of their own supply chains.
Paddington Movers conducts risk-based audits and assessments of selected suppliers, focusing on those operating in higher-risk categories or regions. These audits may include review of employment records, checks on worker documentation, and discussions with management regarding recruitment and working conditions. Where areas for improvement are identified, we expect suppliers to implement corrective actions within an agreed timeline.
Failure to meet our standards or cooperate with audits may result in reduced business, suspension, or termination of the supplier relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Relevant staff are provided with guidance and training to help them recognise indicators of exploitation, understand our policies, and respond to concerns appropriately.
Paddington Movers encourages all workers, contractors, and third parties to report any suspicion or knowledge of modern slavery connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting routes, including line managers or senior management, or via any established whistleblowing channels we operate. Reports may be made in confidence, and we will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
All reports are taken seriously and investigated appropriately. Where necessary, we will work with external experts and relevant authorities to address issues and protect affected individuals.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Paddington Movers recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous vigilance and improvement. We are committed to enhancing our processes, guidance, and oversight as legal requirements evolve and as we learn from experience and industry developments.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by our senior management team. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our policies, audits, training, and reporting mechanisms, and identify further actions to strengthen our approach. Updated statements are approved at a senior level and made available to our stakeholders.
By issuing this statement, Paddington Movers reaffirms its determination to play an active role in the prevention of modern slavery and to uphold the highest standards of integrity and respect for human rights in all aspects of our business.
